Triple Point Winners
I took a closer look at the current selection of Triple Point wines, and I was very pleasantly surprised. There's something for everyone in the mix, from big, dry reds to crisp, lively whites to cider and even a sweet sparkler.
Not only are you guaranteed some delicious choices, Club Card members earn three times the points on these offerings!
What Now?
It's a funny sort of "now what" time of year. The Super Bowl is over. Valentine's Day is history. And there are still nearly two weeks left in February.
Doldrums? Not if you enjoy wine. The truth is that any day, any season, any reason is worthy of the exploration of wine, which is a great way to keep the doldrums at bay.

Summer's Last Hurrah
It's Labor Day weekend, summer's last hurrah! Before we transition to wines that are more fall-friendly, let's enjoy some discoveries from the wine classes held in July and August. Dave did classes on lighter reds and "pizza/burger" wines that featured wonderful wines that are good any time of year, but especially now.

August is upon us!
It's a month that's synonymous with sunshine, beaches, camping, picnics - lots of warm weather outdoor time. The wines that pair best with this kind of living are crisp, clean whites, best served cold.
There are several of them among the recently updated selection of the store's Triple Point wines, so I was eager to check them out!...
Tis the Season... For Rose
Happy Summer! Tis the season for ROSE, and there are so many delicious choices at Exit 9. At a recent wine education class, participants tried 5 different roses and compared and contrasted the different flavor profiles.
Here's a summary of those tastings. If you want to have some fun, consider purchasing them all (or a similar assortment of roses) and conducting your own tasting with friends...
Memorial Day Weekend '22
Up and Down the Bunny Trail
Easter is another family occasion where wines can really shine alongside favorite dishes. Eggs are often a star on Easter tables, from deviled egg appetizers to quiches loaded with meats, veggies, and cheese. Main-course meat favorites are traditionally ham and lamb. All of these flavors make for some amazing wine pairings.
At the front of the store there's a display of selections specific to ham and lamb, and there are also wines (and spirits and canned cocktails) that will go with anything.
Triple Point Treasures
Exit 9 Club Card members know how nice it is to earn points on their purchases - points that apply toward gift cards for future purchases.
There are some wines that earn card members triple the points. That's especially nice! The current selection (located at the front of the store), includes some fun wines.

Highly Rated Refresh
Thank you, Wine Spectator!
Great news in a recent e-blast from this venerable publication: "A new study analyzed health data on nearly 500,000 U.K. residents and found that subjects who drank one to two glasses of red wine a day had a 10 to 17 percent lower risk of contracting COVID than non-drinkers. Subjects who drank white wine had a 7 to 8 percent lower risk if they consumed five glasses or less per week..."
When Light is Right
With the indulgences of the holidays behind us, January is often a time of cutting back - on sugar, on calories, and even on alcohol.
Fortunately, there are many delicious options that take all of these choices into consideration - and you'll find a display of them by the Customer Service desk at the front of the store...

A Home Run of Verga La Storia Wines
When I saw the boxes and boxes of 1895 La Storia wines coming in last week, I knew we were in for a treat. Exit 9 has carried the Montepulciano in this line, and it is already very popular. It has been joined by two others - a Primitivo di Manduria, and a Toscano Rosso. I did a tasting of the three of them side by side, and all I can say is Delizioso!

Bring on Fall!
It's apple season, and that means apple pie.
Walking around the store, I started thinking about all the possibilities for pairings with that most American of desserts.
So many wines came to mind that I thought it would be fun to ask my colleagues for their opinions to see if we were on the same page...

9-11 Remembrance

With the emotional commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the ups and downs of COVID, and the onset of fall, I'm in the mood for a BIG red wine.
Something deep. Something dark. Something soothing. Something velvety...
