It's Columbus Day weekend. My brother and sister-in-law are in Rome. A friend is going to Italy at the end of the month. No wonder I find myself spending more time in the wonderful Italian section of the store.

This delightful 80/20 blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon is so well balanced and just delicious, full of ripe berry and earthy notes.

It was perfect with pizza, but could hold its own with anything from risotto to osso bucco. Viva Italia! Viva Dogajolo.
