We've grown this section of the store in a big way over the last calendar year and currently boast the largest selection of single barrel selections anywhere in New York State, and one of the largest in the Northeast.We have single barrel Bourbons, Canadian Whiskeys, Ryes, Tequila and even a new single barrel Rum. Here, I recommend checking out a few items, including the new Balcones Single Barrel Rum, a 130 proof flavor bomb that will please both rum and whiskey drinkers alike, Obtainium 26-year Canadian Whiskey which proves a surprisingly easy drinker despite its 76.5% ABV and also has one of the coolest stories of any single barrel we've ever selected and the ever-popular Maker's Mark Private Select. High end spirits are always a popular ask for people around the holidays and we have some great options to choose from throughout a multitude of categories. Super-premium tequila has been booming now for the better part of two years. Clase Azul, Cincoro, Don Julio and many others have been rolling out high end Anejo and Extra Anejo offerings and the average American drinker is really starting to take notice. Don Julio's Ultima Reserva is one such offering. Back in 2006, Don Julio and his family planted their final agave field. To commemorate the occasion, agave plants from this field were harvested, baked, crushed and distilled to create this exquisite bottle. The tequila was then aged in excess of three years with a Madeira cask finish, culminating in a piece of history from this storied brand. Maestro Dobel is a Jose Cuervo offshoot that was once a super-premium Mexico exclusive. We've landed a couple bottles here at the store and this should not be missed.Bhakta 50 Year Armagnac, Barrell Craft Spirits 15-Year Cask Strength Bourbon and Glenmorangie Signet make up the remainder of our off-the-cuff recommendations. The Bhakta Armagnac is the result of a truly remarkable undertaking by Raj Bhakta, founder of Whistle Pig Farm Distillery, that resulted in single-cask Armagnac releases that exceed both expectations and price point. Barrell Craft Spirits has made a habit of releasing incredible whiskeys through their annual grey-label bottlings. Finally, Glenmorangie Signet. One of my favorite regularly-available high-end single malts. Signet starts with chocolate malt spirit that smells of a busy coffee house. Over a period of years it sees time in Bourbon, Sherry and virgin charred oak casks before being blended with older stock single malt.
